Abel is a 6–7-year-old German Shepherd who is just a big sweetheart looking for someone to love! This handsome guy has so much love to give and would be happiest spending his days right by his person's side. Whether you're relaxing at home or heading out for a drive, Abel would love nothing more than to be included. And if you need a car ride buddy, he's your guy! 🚗❤️

Abel can be a little nervous when meeting new people, but with a little time and a chance to get comfortable, he has so much love to offer. Once you're his person, you'll have a loyal companion who loves being near you and knowing he's part of your world. He's a German Shepherd through and through, with that special devotion to the people he loves.

Abel would do best with people who understand that first introductions don't have to be rushed. Slower introductions are important, especially around toddlers and very young children, so everyone can feel comfortable.

Abel came to DeKalb Humane Society after being transferred from the Muncie animal shelter in Muncie, Indiana, and now it's his turn to find a family of his own. ❤️ Shelter life is no place for a dog who just wants to be someone's companion, and we'd love nothing more than to see Abel trading his kennel for a cozy spot at home.
